SUMAMA KA! Hits air with new cadres
With the strong desire of the youth sector to effect change in the left-behind-city of Digos, the Samahan at Ugnayan Ng Mga Makabayang Mag-aaral at Kabataan (SUMAMA KA!), a progressive youth organization waved its banner for total empowerment.
On May 9-10, 2009 at Sta. Monica Resort, Bolinao Beach, Dawis, Digos City, forty-eight (48) young leaders took their oath of committment as agents of change representing their respective barangays in advancing agenda of reforms and good governance with premium to participatory democracy as an effective tools of development.
SUMAMA KA! believes in the capacity of the young people of Digos City to lead the transformation of the said-to-be ill-governed city. Mr. Jovani Castro Jalalon, its Chief Convenor, pronounced the great contribution of the youth sector in realizing its agenda of establishing a transparent government.
Hon. Josef F. Cagas and Atty. Vic Cadungog as pillars of the organization likewise scored on how the present administration lambasted the treasury of the city on unecessary expenditures thereby taken for granted the basic needs of Digoseños in uplifting its living conditions.
KAUSABAN 2010 as its umbrella organization disclosed its political willingness to take a firm stand to put the hopes of the people to life by representing them in the forthcoming election in 2010.
